The Derry Eagles U11 Girls have spent the last few weeks embracing the upcoming World Cup 2010 event. The first World Cup game kicks off June 11th and concludes with the final on July 11th. USA plays England on June 12th, for those who may be interested.
Earlier this Spring the girls each randomly selected two of the 32 countries that have qualified for the Wold Cup this year being held in South Africa. For the last few weeks they were given facts to research about their teams, questions about various soccer players, and information about the country itself. They even had fun facts to research, such as which musical artists were performing at the opening ceremonies.
