Become a Certified Soccer Referee
Becoming a Certified Soccer Referee is a great way to learn more about the laws of the game while earning some extra money. The Derry Soccer Club (DSC) is helping to facilitate a response to the need for more youth soccer referees in order to meet the growing demand throughout the state of NH. The NHSA (www.soccernh.com) schedules regionally located referee courses throughout the year.
The current course schedule and general referee information can be located at:
http://www.nhreferee.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=30
The DSC is also planning to host a referee training class in conjunction with the NHSA Referee Instructors. More information about dates and location will be posted soon.
The DSC will reimburse the cost of these new referee classes for our youth referees provided the new referee completes one season in the DSC referee pool assignments. See reimbursement process below. Costs associated to referee recertification classes are not reimbursable. For more information about becoming a Certified Youth Soccer Referee, contact Paul Seleny, DSC Referee Coordinator at: pseleny@hotmail.com
DSC Reimbursement Process for new NHSA Referee License:
- Referee candidate must successfully pass the new referee course followed by receipt of certification. Copy of certification and registration payment should be sent to the DSC referee coordinator.
- The new referee must then make themselves available to participate in the DSC referee assignment pool for at least one soccer season where they can gain valuable experience and guidance from other licensed referees in application of the laws of the game.
- The referee license fee reimbursement will then be added to the payment made to referees from the DSC resulting from game assignments to the in-town Hawks and Eagles EDP games.
