Eagles Competitive Soccer Program

• The Derry Eagles represent the competitive soccer program of the Derry Soccer Club. We stress strong soccer fundamentals, competitive team play, good sportsmanship, and fun.
• Soccer players looking to advance to a higher level of competitive play as well as prepare themselves with the skills necessary for the competition that exists at the Middle School level, are encouraged to participate in the Derry Eagles Soccer Program.
• The Eagles program is by invitation to the youth of Derry and surrounding communities who are ages 7 through 16.
• Teams are organized into age groups determined by the players age on July 31st, prior to the fall season:
  • U-8, for players 7 years of age
  • U-9, for players 8 years of age
  • U-10, for players 9 years of age
  • U-11, for players 10 years of age
  • U-12 for players 11 years of age
  • U-13, for players 12 years of age
  • U-14, for players 13 years of age
  • Seniors, for players 14 years of age and older
• All players must be registered with the Derry Soccer Club to play for the Eagles program. A parent or guardian must complete and sign a registration form for each player to be registered and submit it with the required registration fee to the Derry Soccer Club.
• Derry Eagles registration fee is higher than for the in-town Hawks program as the costs associated with the travel club are higher. The following expenses are automatically included in the player registration fees: league registration fees, jamboree and tournament registrations, game referees, field costs, professional trainers, coaches licenses and training.
• Dates will be posted for required tryouts in early to mid-June. Tryouts are a fun series of soccer drills to allow coaches to evaluate which players are ready for Eagles travel soccer. The coaches will call each parent to discuss their child’s tryout results.
• U8 through U14 teams play a two-season schedule: Fall and Spring. Senior divisions play Spring only. Players who register in the Fall are automatically registered for the following Spring season.
• Team practices are scheduled two evenings per week for 90 minutes each.
• Games are scheduled for Saturday or Sunday afternoons with home games played on Derry soccer fields. Most away games are played at local town fields within a 15 to 45 minute drive.
• Derry Eagles teams also participate in Jamboree and Tournament play. These games are held during holiday weekends such as Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Memorial Day in local areas such as Londonderry, Amherst, Rochester, Concord, as well as the Harvest Cup held in York, Maine.
• Derry Eagles coaches are licensed with the NH Soccer Association and participate in 1 or 2 day training every 2 -3 years.
• The Eagles provide professional trainers who specialize in player skills training to supplement the training from their coaching staff. These training sessions will be 90 minutes once a week for each team.
• Players are provided their team jersey and shorts as part of the registration process and are responsible for their other soccer apparel such as shin guards (mandatory), socks long enough to cover the shin guards, and acceptable cleated soccer shoes.
• Players will be contacted by their coach prior to the start of the season and informed of game and practice schedules and other team matters.
