FAQ
- When will initial registration be open for Eagles?
Player registration for the Fall/Spring season is held in May/June. - Can I register for the fall season only?
The Derry Eagles registration includes BOTH the Fall and Spring seasons. Only full year registrations are accepted. Senior divisions (U15 and older) that only play in the Spring season will hold registration in January. - When do I have to register?
All players must register prior to the tryout date for that division. This is required to provide the coach a full listing of all registered players that are committed to their team. The coach will select players from this list. - How long will it take me to register on-line?
Less than ten minutes! - Is there a multiple player discount?
Yes. A $30 discount is provided at time of final registration for each family member after the first registration. - Can I register for the Eagles some other way than on-line?
Not at this time. Only on-line registrations are accepted. - When will I know if my child has been selected to the Eagles team?
The coach for each division will determine roster positions and notify each registered player before June 30th. If your child is selected for an Eagles team, you will be provided a web site address and asked to complete your registration by paying the balance on line. If your child does not make the Eagles team, your registration will be automatically converted to a Derry Hawks registration. Some refund conditions are allowed. See the registration page for details. - Do I need to order a new uniform?
New Eagles players will need to order a uniform after being notified by the coach. Uniform orders are done during their final registration process. The new uniform set (numbered jersey and shorts) cost $55. Uniform vendors typically carry a uniform for 3 years. This allows a club to procure the same uniform during this cycle. The current Derry Eagles uniform was introduced during the Fall 2008 season. Parents should be advised to purchase the correct sizes to ensure a few years of use. - How many practices do Eagles teams have per week?
Eagles teams practice twice per week, 90 minutes each practice. Typically, one practice is led by professional trainers hired by the Club and one is led by the NHSA Licensed team coaches. - How long is the season and when does it start?
The Fall Jamboree is scheduled for the end of August, and the Londonderry Labor Day Weekend tournament follows. League games for the Fall soccer season begin in early September. Wrapping up the season are the League Championship matches scheduled for early November. - How many games are there and how far do Eagles teams travel for games?
Eagles teams typically play eight league games per fall or spring seasons. Of these, four are home games held at Derry fields and four away games held at fields in local towns. Typical travel destinations are Salem, Windham, Londonderry, Bedford, and Epping with some league games occasionally as far as Concord, Amherst or Hollis. - When are games scheduled?
League games are usually scheduled for Saturday and Sunday afternoons. If league games must be re-scheduled due to a cancellation, make-up games are scheduled between coaches according to player, coach and field availability. Jamboree and tournament games take place across an entire 2 or 3-day weekend. Therefore, games could be scheduled from 8am through 8pm. - What tournaments will we participate in? Is there an additional registration fee?
Tournament participation is determined by coaches of each age division. The older age divisions typically participate in more tournaments than younger age divisions. Tournament registration fees are included in your Derry Eagles player registration fee. However, teams deciding to participate in more frequent tournaments are asked to pay their way for the tournament costs. The tournaments Derry Eagles teams commonly participate in as well as the possible locations are:- Fall Jamboree (Epping, NH)
- Labor Day Weekend Tournament (Londonderry, NH, Concord, NH)
- Columbus Day Weekend Tournament (Concord, NH, York, ME)
- Memorial Day Weekend Tournament (Amherst, NH, Nashua, NH, Needham, MA)
